Gold medals are like crabs

I’m pretty sure the US women’s softball team threw the gold medal game. I don’t know anything about softball or the team, but I do understand the dangers of overfishing. The US has taken the last three golds and has been so dominant that the IOC has cited the lack of a viable competitor as one reason they have decided to remove the sport from the London olympics entirely. No one likes events that have a guaranteed shutout by the US or ever having to envoke the “mercy rule” when their teams have been fully blasted.

So if you’re with American women’s softball, how do you get your sport brought back down the road? Don’t overfish. Just because you have the technology to catch ALL the crab, it doesn’t mean you should. Let some get away now and again and you’ll be able to catch more down the road.

Wow, this came out a little convoluted. You get the idea. I’m going to go drink some coffee.
